The Hockyclub ROTWEISS Wettingen was founded in 1928. Originally situated in Baden, the club moved to Wettingen three years later when onw pitch had been bougth. In 1933 the HC ROTWEISS Wettingen was promoted to the first division where the men's team has played since then.

Today HC ROTWEISS Wettingen is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in Switerland with two women's and four men's teams and about 130 juniors. The women's team became fieldhockey champion in  1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, 8 times indoor champion since 1999 and 5 times the Cup whereas the men's team won 22 times the fieldhockey championship, 21 times the indoor champion and 21 the Cup.

HC ROTWEISS Wettingen participated several times an the EuroHockey Club Champion Cup representing Switzerland and the men's team won the Indoor A-Division tournament in 2002.
